Pa takes us to breakfast
Waiters and waitresses in black-and-white swing open shop doors,
Aroma of the noodle shop greets waiting customers,
The slurping of hot tea and soup,
The smell of garlic, cilantro, ginger, and beef broth…

I bring my family to breakfast,
And I see their happy faces…
All the hard work,
All the struggle for money,
Has finally paid off…

Northern Noodle

Aroma of the noodle shop greets waiting customers,
The smell of garlic, cilantro, ginger, and beef broth;
This moment!
I ingest nutrients at the noodle shop…
Food carts piled with steamed dumplings,
The slurping of hot tea and soup,
This moment!
I walk away satiated.
(Beef Noodles)

Eat Noodles

Waiters and waitresses in black-and-white swing open shop doors,
It is time you returned to the noodle shop.
Aroma of the noodle shop greets waiting customers,
Smell it, smell it!
The smell of garlic, cilantro, ginger, and beef broth.
A man uses chopsticks to shovel noodles into his mouth,
A girl dips a piece of chicken into a small saucer of hoisin sauce
Eat your noodles, now!
