Raindrops
Raindrops beat on the window panes,
Inviting me to
Go outside and play!
I walk with a little more
Bounce in my step
As excitement rises upon me.
Barging out the door,
Without wearing my shoes, I
Skip down the stairs, humming a song I
Heard at school.
Bouncing out the main gate,
I sense the raindrops splatter on my bare skin.
Dancing gracefully, naturally, and quietly,
I skip around with the lively raindrops.
Leaving my mind with all the struggles in my room,
I feel liberated,
I feel free…
Rain is a blessing.
Night market
The boulevard sings with the
Buzz of motorcycle engines,
Children and teenagers
Bounce and laugh as the driver pedals through
The congested city streets.
Sellers bellow at passing shoppers, advertising food and clothing
That pierces through my fragile ears.
Countless people dressed in
Colorful t-shirts and shorts, crowded,
Trying to make their way through,
Slightly bumping their shoulders.
Neon colored banners blind my eyes
As I slowly find my way out of
The complex maze.
Smell of smoked wood and honey fills the
Arid summer air.
A tingling sensation dashes through my back and
Somehow, I feel safe here;
With all the noise and glee
It feels like home.
